Videos for content marketing

Whatever the intention, video has huge benefits as a communication medium. One of the obvious reason is that it can convey personality. People respond to people, whether for marketing, brand engagement or training purpose in an organization.

Videos are extremely useful for practical reasons, either to demonstrate products or procedures, these video presentations are consistent compared to the unpredictability of live demonstrations. The value of events such as conferences, seminars and trainings can be greatly enhanced and used again and again whether for training or promotion. Video can also be used to create effective live presentations and interactive productions.

Even if advertising is not the goal, inclusion of video on the company website can create a better user experience and add a touch of class. A recent study by Treepodia, an authority in video use in eCommerce found that the retailers surveyed were selling substantially more products when a video of the product was included. Further statistics also showed that even if the video wasn’t watched the sell will still happen. This means video creates customer confidence and trust. Brands using video is considered more reliable as they produce a quality user experience. Showing the product in a multidimensional format, the brand exhibits trust and confidence in the product. This is an interesting finding and it does have relevance to the use of video in websites in general and not just e-commerce.

Videos should not only be used for Content marketing strategy, lets see some of its advantages and how we could make use of it effectively.

The whole purpose of Content marketing is to get your message to your potential audience.  Written content means you can only publish it in one place. Design strategies to make sure that content that attracts eyeballs won’t get buried on your blog. Link it to significant posts in the side bar, tweet it, bookmark it through various bookmarking sites, etc. Of course your written content can be found via Long Tail Keyword search in Google. But Video is just much easier to syndicate. And the whole purpose of syndication is to try and get that video in front of as many eyeballs as possible. Post video to YouTube, post video to other video aggregators using Blip, Metacafe, etc., embed link on Facebook fan page, share link with affiliates, embed video on your website, get other people to embed your video on their websites, post video to iTunes as video podcast.

Videos are powerful tools and there are more platforms you can use. One video, dozens of places to share it. That’s the first advantage video enjoys.

Video establishes personality, if your content marketing is built around written content it takes a few articles or posts to truly start being perceived as your personality. But videos are out there right in front of them, audience can see and hear you. And your personality will come through the way you speak, facial expressions you use and your body language. That will turn some people away but the people who are attracted to your message will go ahead to see/view the message.

Video differentiates you from the competition, in most market areas there are still few people using video effectively. Picture speaks more than Words.

Video testimonials is the name game. Video testimonials don’t have to be given by the superstars, it would be nice if you had 10 or 20 or more video testimonials where regular people like ‘us’ are talking about your services and what you’ve been able to do for them. It will be a powerful instrument to use it in your content marketing.

Internet is going mobile, tablets are fine for texts but reading long blog posts on a Smartphone can be irritating. Whereas a video can be a big hit, hit play and it rolls. You can even consume on the move, plug in a headset and then anything that you want to watch you can stop, rewind the bit you need to say, and then move on.

We got to say, Videos are here to stay! For professional quality videos, corporate films, voice overs, recording, post production related queries, get in touch with us at info@industree.in

Videos as Marketing tool

Video is a great marketing tool, it is one of the best ways to share views with audience. It is a medium that everyone loves and is not going away anytime soon. By incorporating video into your campaign, you will not only stay ahead of your competition, but also improve your brand identity.

Online video is becoming a first stop for many customers. It is akin to what the Web page was a decade ago — something that can give early adopters an edge over competitors. It gives them a channel to talk directly to customers in ways previously accessible only to large companies that could afford TV commercials. Some dominant players for Video hosting are YouTube and others including Vimeo, MetaCafe and Facebook.

Why companies should use video as part of its marketing strategy?

Video is cost effective – Compared with traditional print advertising, video can actually prove more cost effective. Companies often make the mistake of dumping money into expensive magazine advertisements that are summarily ignored. Video, on the other hand, is almost impossible to ignore. Being extremely versatile, video can be re-shaped into many different formats. Mobile kiosks, large screen presentations, smart phones and of course websites are just some of the ways to spread the word using this powerful medium. And as a matter of fact, it can be produced at a reasonable cost.

Video is audible – Video is audible and chosen before a written document as one has to read to understand a written document. People enjoy video, if someone visits a website and a video is offered, one will definitely view the video though it can be out of curiosity. And that means they have devoted their attention to a sales pitch. Marketers love using video because that’s what people want.

Video is a mature medium – Video is not a fad. People have loved motion pictures since the late 1800s. Even though the medium has changed, the passion for video has not. Now, video is an extremely mature art form and everyone respects it. YouTube sees on average 2 billion views, isn’t it big?

Video is part and package of any campaign – Any advertising company worth its salt will offer a video package. Ignoring the option of video would be like ignoring the need for a website. If your competition hasn’t jumped on the video bandwagon, why not show some industry leadership? Google’s search algorithms pay a great deal of attention to video. It’s a great way to beat the competition.

Video increases web traffic – Your website doesn’t have to be the only stop in your online transit system. There are many ways to bring in the traffic. Make sure your video is “social bookmarking” friendly! Twitter, Del.icio.us, Facebook, Digg, reddit, Newsvine, StumbleUpon and Squidoo are just some of the ways you can spread the word.

What all you can do with videos?

1. Showcase your products to the customers, demonstrate it.

2. Create a destination, it is easier to win customers if you give them a reason to tune in.

3. Use analytics and tools that allow you to measure the effect of your videos.

4. Build a brand channel, a way to get the attention of customers and invite them to become your video producers.

5. Advertise with videos cause videos have huge potential audience. Videos hosting sites like YouTube offers a dozen advertising options, including banner ads, promoted videos that appear on top and beside search results, and pre-roll ads that appear during other YouTube videos much like a conventional TV commercial.

6. How-to Instruction videos area big hit, if you are a product company Online videos will do wonders for your business.

A living website

Remember, last time I did share a few things about website and why one should hire a professional to develop it. The story does not end there where your website is ready and you keep it intact, clean and tidy.

What is the use of a dead website which has no latest info, no pictures, no videos, no news feeds. This may be the reason, why your website is not getting enough hits even after having heavy dose info, just like in normal life, change is a must. Its important that your website is updated every now and then, news, pictures, videos, etc. add to the bounce rates. Most of the websites go unvisited because of the same stale stuff on the platter. Idea is keep feeding, keep it alive! As said, adding newer content to the website boosts its search ability in the search engines. Use probable keywords and see how it makes a difference, rest is all history.
